Reasons to Join | Membership Information Reasons to Join JASC is a non-profit, tax-exempt, non-political Colorado corporation made up of individuals and organizations interested in strengthening cooperation and understanding between Japan and the United States. Founded in 1989, it is one of more than 39 societies working in the U.S. under the umbrella of the National Association of Japan-America Societies. Our focus for individual members is based on bringing together those community members with an interest in, and connection with Japanese culture, society and tradition. In addition to our regular activities (conversation club, Japanese language courses) we also offer opportunities throughout the year for members to come to interact with one another in an effort to build a bridge of communication and understanding between the people of Colorado and Japan. In addition, JASC provides opportunities for social and educational enrichment through a variety of programs, lectures, and cultural events. Business workshops and executive seminars facilitate the exchange of ideas and the understanding of business practices critical to financial interaction and economic development in both countries. The society also works in close collaboration with local high schools and universities to promote mutual understanding among our future business/community leaders.
