Denver International Airport

Denver International Airport, often referred to as DIA or DEN, is an airport in Denver, Colorado. At 53 square miles (140 km2) it is the largest airport in the United States by total area, and the second largest airport in the world after King Fahd International Airport.

On June 10, 2013 United Airlines began nonstop flights from DEN to Tokyo's Narita Airport-  the nonstop service has opened up new avenues of tourism between Denver and Asia.

DIA has been a supporter of Japan America Society of Colorado programming for many years. We are so grateful to their wonderful staff for their participation in and support of our events.

Sakura Square LLC

Sakura Square LLC manages and operates Sakura Square, located in downtown Denver at 20th Street between Lawrence and Larimer Streets.

Established in 1973, Sakura Square is a destination for those seeking Japanese goods and services and is home to residents of the 20-story Tamai Tower apartment complex. A small garden plaza at the Tamai Tower entrance conveys the history of Japanese-Americans in Denver through statues and plaques of Governor Ralph L. Carr, Minoru Yasui and Rev. Yoshitaka Tamai. The Denver Buddhist Temple anchors Sakura Square and provides a spiritual center as well as a unique cultural and community gathering place.

Every June, Sakura Square is the host location of the annual Sakura Matsuri, or Cherry Blossom Festival, which features Japanese dance performances, martial arts demonstrations, Japanese arts and food and a variety of Asian goods vendors. The annual event draws a variety of attendees from all over to take part in their showcases and family friendly events. You can look for the Japan America Society of Colorado booth each year at the Sakura Matsuri!

Denver competed against 21 other cities to house the new facility. United Airlines

United Airlines is a major U.S. airline owned by United Continental Holdings (originally UAL Corporation), headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. It is currently the world’s largest airline by number of destinations and scheduled passenger-kilometers flown.

United successfully began nonstop flight between Denver International Airport and Narita International Airport in Tokyo on June 10, 2013 using the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. United Airlines is offering more flights and more seats from the Mile High City to more destinations around the world than any other carrier. They offer more than 375 flights each day from Denver International Airport to more than 10 destinations in Latin America, Canada and Asia – as well as service to top business centers in North America.

Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort
